Things People Ask Us

  • How many sessions do I need?
Scalp Micropigmentation normally takes more than one session for the best results. On average we would recommend 2-4 sessions depending on the extent of hair loss. There is normally a gap of 2-3 weeks between each session. This is so we can let the pigment settle and heal in-between and then layer it the next session to give a more realistic and natural look result.
  • How long is each session?
The length of each session depends on the area to be treated and can last 2-4 hours. There is no down time after the procedure.
  • Can you have Scalp Micropigmentation after a hair transplant?
This is commonly carried out after hair transplant to maximise the results seen. SMP can be used to add density to the transplanted area or cover any scarring caused by FUE and FUT. We would normally advise to wait 8-12 months after a hair transplant to allow maximum growth of your transplanted hair or the dinar area to heal.
  • Is suitable for women?
Absolutely! A lot of women experience hair thinning where the scalp may become visible. We can carefully place the pigments in the exposed areas giving the appearance of fuller thicker hair.
  • Is the procedure painful?
There will be some slight discomfort during the procedure, and we will be monitoring you to make sure you are feeling okay. We do no go past the second layer of the skin, therefore the pain is less that in traditional tattooing.
  • How long do the results last?
After all the sessions have been completed the strength of the colour should last a few years ( 3-6 years) with proper care and use of a SPF 50 sunscreen Over time there may a lightening of the colour (not discolouration), and we can offer a touch-up session to counteract this.
  • How much does Micro Scalp Pigmentation treatment cost?
The price of MSP treatment is determined by the extent of your hair loss. Although cost is significant, your primary concern when selecting a provider for your MSP treatment should be the quality of their work. There are different financing alternatives accessible to make the procedure more affordable and attainable.
